NOTICE OF RACE


1      RULES

1.1      The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in 2017 - 2020 The Racing Rules of Sailing.

1.2      The rules of the International Six Meter class as published by World Sailing will apply.

2      ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY

2.1      The regatta is open to all boats of the International 6 Meter class as defined by the measurement rule

2.2      Eligible boats may enter by completing the attached form and sending it, together with the required fee, to Andy Parker  by June 22nd, 2019

3      FEES

3.1      Required fees are as follows and include a Beer and Wine Social Friday Night and Dinner for 5 Saturday night.  Additional Dinner tickets are available for $15 US/ $20 CAD

4     SCHEDULE

4.1      Dates of racing:

5      VENUE

5.1    Port Madison is the location of the regatta harbor and the racing areas.

6     THE COURSES

6.1    The courses to be sailed will be windward leeward courses. Courses will be posted on the regatta notice board to the left of the PMYC clubhouse entry

6.2   The start/finish line is OPEN.

7     PENALTY SYSTEM

7.1    The penalties are as follows:

7.2    RRS 44.1 is changed so that the Two-Turns Penalty is replaced by the One-Turn Penalty.

7.3    Decisions of the protest committee will be final as provided in RRS 70.5.

8     SCORING

8.1    The scoring system is as follows: Appendix A; Low Point Scoring System.

8.2    3  races are required to be completed to constitute a series.

9   RADIO COMMUNICATION

9.1               Except in an emergency, a boat that is racing shall not make voice or data transmissions and shall not receive voice or data communication that is not available to all boats.

9.2 It is recommended that boats carry a VHF radio for safety and race operations. The race committee will attempt to broadcast details of upcoming starts, recalls and starting penalties.

10   PRIZES

Prizes will be given as follows: All divisions will be scored for the Lipton Cup. The names of the boat and crew will be inscribed on the trophy located at the Seattle Yacht Club.  Trophies will be awarded for the top 2 boats in all classes.

11   DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY

Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See RRS 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.

12   INSURANCE

Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance
